Fiber Hive

Come Make Stuff!

January 8, 2017 1-4 PM

The first open studio for the FIber Hive will be taking place this Sunday, January 8th from 1-4pm in the Washington Street Art gallery.

Drop in for a bit or come for the whole time! No experience needed!

We will provide a range of fiber art materials or you can bring your own if you have something specific in mind, or an ongoing project you want to work on.

For the next two weeks we also encourage people who want to take part in the Pussyhat Project (https://www.pussyhatproject.com/) to attend and knit with a community!

The Fiber Hive is an open and inclusive community art studio dedicated to engaging people of diverse backgrounds in fiber arts projects, craftivism, skill sharing, and community building.

The Fiber Hive is based on the Art Hive model, an international network of small community-art making spaces that promote arts-based social inclusion. Lauren Leone, the founder of the Fiber Hive, is a fiber artist and an art therapist interested in the potential that craft and fiber arts have for promoting social action.
