Please join us at Washington Street Gallery, 321 Washington Street, Somerville, MA, on Saturday, June 1 at 6 pm for the opening reception of “Interiors.” The show runs through June, with gallery hours on Saturdays from 12 to 4 pm, or by appointment.

“Interiors” explores the depiction of inside space--whether that is the domestic interior, the cellular structure, or the psychological subconscious: what lies within or beneath the surface? This showcase of two- and three-dimensional artworks takes you to the heart of the matter. The concept of the interior runs broadly and ubiquitously through all things, yet how much attention is brought to the inside spaces of our homes, our objects, our bodies, our minds?

Interior can mean the core or the seed; it can also mean the root or the source. It can lie just beyond a door or peephole, or you may have to dig to find it. It can be visible or invisible, possibly only perceivable as an idea. Come see what members of Washington Street as well as many local artists have created with interiority in mind.
